The 5th Annual Writers Contest has concluded at the Okefenokee Heritage Center. Over 50 people gathered to celebrate the talented work of our local community. Poems and stories ranged from science fiction to stories about mythology and love.
“I’m amazed at how talented everyone in our area is,” parents marveled.
Winfield H. Strock III, renowned local author, spoke about the importance of finding other people to help encourage creation. “A writers group is like a support group that helps you hone your craft and share with others your best possible work.”
The OHC Writer’s Guild meets every 2nd Tuesday at 7 pm and helps writers from all around the region develop stories and poems for publication in all genres. Contact the Okefenokee Heritage Center for more information.
